Infranode strengthens senior team with Zacharias Karlsen and Johannes Lien
Infranode is pleased to announce the addition of seasoned investment professionals Zacharias Karlsen and Johannes Lien to the team. Marking an important step in the company’s growth journey, the new team members will focus on driving value-add investments with a strong emphasis on the energy transition and decarbonization, a core pillar of Infranode’s investment philosophy. Zacharias Karlsen joins as Partner and Johannes Lien as Senior Advisor.

Zacharias Karlsen joins Infranode after nearly a decade at EQT Infrastructure, where he most recently served as Head of the European Energy & Environmental Services Sector Team. During his time at EQT, he focused on key energy transition themes, including decarbonization of power, decentralization of energy, electrification of heat and transport, and resource efficiency. He contributed to recent EQT deals such as OX2, Statera, and InstaVolt. His work has been instrumental in transactions exceeding EUR 8 billion.
Before EQT, Zacharias was part of Citigroup’s Power & Utilities team. With senior expertise and a proven track record in Nordic infrastructure investments, he brings extensive private equity experience and a strong focus on value-add strategies. Zacharias will play a key role in driving Infranode’s strategic objectives forward. He will assume his new role following a gardening leave from EQT.
With over 20 years of experience in Nordic private equity, Johannes Lien brings a distinguished track record in driving investments and supporting companies in tackling global sustainability challenges, particularly in resource efficiency. Lien has been a Partner at Summa Equity since its inception in 2016 and part of its founding team. At Summa he was a member of its investment committee and led successful investments such as Sortera and Lakers. Previously, as Director at Altor Equity Partners, he held board positions at prominent companies including Byggmax, Helly Hansen, SPT Group, Eltek, Navico, and SATS, contributing to over 20 successful investments in the region.
Johannes joins Infranode as Senior Advisor and will serve as a member of the Infranode Investment Committee.
«With a strong local presence and an active ownership approach, Infranode has executed more Nordic infrastructure deals than any other international GP. We continue to see tremendous opportunities to invest in highly attractive companies that align with our vision of contributing to the green transition. Strengthening our team with experienced investors like Zacharias and Johannes reinforces our commitment to these goals and represents a significant step in shaping Infranode’s future strategy,” says Christian Doglia and Philip Ajina, Founders of Infranode.
